As a CPA and senior partner in a Big Five accounting firm for nearly three decades, Conlon worked with corporations to streamline expenses, improved financial management, and performed financial audits.
Conlon has extensive experience in state government, having been appointed by Governor Pete Wilson to serve on two of California’s most critical agencies. Greg served on the California Public Utilities Commission as President for two years and Commissioner for four years. Greg also served two years as Commissioner on the California Transportation Commission.
Officer and pilot, U.S. Air Force, including three years active duty and five years inactive duty.
Greg was appointed to Chair of the Atherton Finance Committee to help balance the City’s budget and protect its financial integrity. Greg has served on the Atherton Rail Committee, helping to be certain that the High Speed Rail Train is built in an environmentally acceptable manner that protects property values along the adjoining right-of-way.
Board Member of Self-Help for the Elderly and Pineview Housing Project
Greg served 12 years on Self Help, which provided social and health services to over 25,000 senior citizens in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also served 5 years as a Board Member of the Pineview Housing Project, helping to build an 80-unit low-income senior housing project in San Francisco.
Advisory Board Member to two Charter Schools in the City of Alameda
Greg has consulted with the School Board members and the facility regarding the operation of the Alameda Community Learning Center and the start-up of the new charter school, the NEA Community Learning Center. Both schools combined have a total of approximately 700 students.
